In 2020 dad had his first stroke, a blood clot. He made a wonderful recovery and was able to live his life as before; days out with Lynn, cycling on his bike and time with Neil, Ruth and their families.

Devastatingly dad had a second stroke in November 2024, a bleed on the brain, which he was not able to recover from and he passed after a short time in hospital with Lynn by his side and daily love and support from his immediate family.

Whilst in hospital dad took part in a trial aimed at improving the chances of recovery from a stroke. This didn't help dad however the research can be used to support others in the future.

All that knew dad will know he enjoyed a private life, he was always there to support others and disliked any fuss or attention on himself. Dad had shared his wishes for a funeral as a direct cremation without an attended service or celebration of life so we are fulfilling those wishes for him.
